Examination Method: 15 minute T/F Exam (80% Pass Mark Required – Delegates must answer 12 of 15 questions correctly to qualify for certification).

Introduction

Challenging behaviour refers to behaviour that is difficult to manage and may create risks for staff, patients or visitors.

In many cases, such behaviour is not intentional aggression but a consequence of illness, distress, confusion, or unmet needs.

This course examines the nature of Challenging Behaviour, the clinical and environmental factors that may contribute to it, and the situations in which it most commonly arises within healthcare settings. It also outlines practical approaches to reducing risk through awareness, communication, and collaborative working with clinical staff.
