This One-Day Training Course is for Branch Managers and Supervisors

The training will prepare learners to be able to define organisational policy; conduct health and safety risk assessments for violence and lone working; and implement appropriate risk reduction and control measures – including completing Incident Reports and provision of appropriate aftercare support and advice to staff that have experienced violence at work.

The training explores a variety of topics, including:

  • Legal and professional conduct expectations
  • Preparations for conflict – Crisis Rehearsal
  • Threatening, abusive or obscene communications by phone, post or social media
  • Assessing threats of future violence
  • Managing a violent incident
  • Investigating and reporting a violent incident
  • Post incident de-briefing
  • Provision of appropriate aftercare and support
  • Reviewing the efficacy of the precautionary measures
  • Violence at Work – Resources

Training delivery

This is a classroom based training course. Knowledge transfer takes the form of presentations, discussions and practical exercises, delivered in an informal ‘workshop’ style that invites and encourages learner involvement and participation.

Lesson Notes/ Training Manual

Learners will each receive a ‘welcome pack’; a detailed training manual and comprehensive hand-outs that support the course learning. These include a template Policy on Violence at Work; template Risk Assessments; and template Incident Reporting Forms.


Each Learner completing the training will receive a personalised Certificate of Attendance.
