Training Delivery

The Physical Intervention & Restraint Skills course is a One-Day course (usually 09:00 – 17:00.)

We can deliver the training at your premises and we can train up to twelve delegates per course.

Each delegate will receive a Welcome pack together with comprehensive handouts that support the learning, plus a Certificate of Attendance.

Delegates also gain access to our detailed online training manual.

Immediate Benefits

The training ensures delegates are aware of the dangers and risks associated with physical interventions; have a thorough understanding of relevant legislation; are ‘patient focused’ and suitably prepared for their role.

It also equips Healthcare Security Officers with ethical practical skills to carry out CJIA responsibilities.

N.B. Provision of this training will fulfill Health & Safety due diligence requirements in respect of ‘suitable training’ in physical restraint. If you are responsible for commissioning suitable restraint training, this is significant! Delegate Feedback

“Our Portering and Security team are usually the first responders to calls for assistance from nursing staff and it is vital they have the necessary skills and training. We chose AEGIS because their training programme is endorsed by the National Association for Healthcare Security and we are very pleased with the results! The training will definitely help to minimise the risks. The emphasis was on keeping calm, utilising conflict management techniques and the use of space to talk patients down and defuse situations. The practical skills were amazingly simple and very effective.”

Paul Andrews , Housekeeping and Portering Manager, Dorset County Hospital

“Thanks! We all enjoyed the tuition and we have learned some new skills which will greatly benefit us in our current setting. I have recommended that we use AEGIS as our preferred PI trainer for clinical settings and our other security services as well.”

Dave Sheikhian, Cardinal Security
